Job Description
 

We have a great opportunity to join our Quality & Sourcing team as a Product Technologist in our furniture department.

A Technologist manages the technical development of our product ranges, ensuring we are offering the best possible quality and value for the customer. To ensure products meet ethical, quality, legal and safety standards that exceed customer expectations. The role will require customer orientated thinking, strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and implement market leading standards across the furniture categories
  • Analyse returns data, customer and internal feedback to develop corrective action plans to reduce returns and improve customer experience
  • Manage the product approval and sealing process including product technical file approval
  • Review and report on supplier performance and influence the trading team on supplier selection during range and strategy meetings
  • Ensure we meet all legal requirements and stay up to date with regulations and industry standards
  • Assess packaging standards to ensure they are fit for our supply chain and drive continuous improvement
  • Work closely with the Merchandisers and Buyers to make sure that the technical tasks are completed in line with the critical path
  • Quickly address product issues to minimize impact to the customer and business within appropriate time frames
  • Ensure all manufacturing sites meet the Dunelm Technical and Ethical standards
Qualifications
What do I need to have?
  • Experience in a similar role for a furniture retailer or manufacturer
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, safety standards & legal requirements
  • Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills
  • A good team player with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills is essential
  • Good verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels within the business
