Job Description

We have a fantastic Trainee Driver opportunity for someone to join our Home Delivery Network in our Depot. Starting salary - £27673.00pa

This is a fantastic opportunity to join us initially as a 3.5t driver working in a team with a view to becoming a qualified 7.5T driver gaining your C1 and CPC licences as well by completing your Theory and Practical tests. All this to be completed within 6 months, with an opportunity to go on and take your C+E licence to drive articulated vehicles.

To ensure you get to this level we have broken down the 2 years training programme into 5 stages.

  • Stage 1 – Driver recruited as a 3.5t trainee driver on a 6 month probation, driving 3.5t vehicles and acting as a driver mate
  • Stage 2 – Complete Driver Theory and attain medical certification for licence application
  • Stage 3 – Start your integration and training into driving a 7.5t and achieving your Cat C licence. Also CPC training to be provided
  • Stage 4 – Work as a Home Delivery Driver
  • Stage 5 – Undertake your Category C+E Training

Through out your time in the role you will be required to:

  • Deliver furniture into the customers room of choice
  • Management your time efficiently as part of a team
  • Show a passion for offering great customer service

Requirements for the role:

  • Valid Category B (car) driving licence
  • Must be 18 or over years old
  • No more than 6 points on the licence
  • No DD, DR, or IN endorsements
  • You will need to sign the Dunelm Study Policy (2-year period)
