Joining our team, you will have a passion for logistics, have the drive to consistently deliver for our customers, an analytical mind and motivation to learn and develop your skills with support and guidance from Dunelm. You will get the opportunity to be involved in the flow of Dunelm product through the supply chain, taking deliveries from an international supplier base through our Distribution Centres and sent on to our stores.

What your 12 months will look like…

During your placement you will be exposed to how our supply chain works and how we keep up with customer demand. You'll gain a thorough insight (and real experience) into the integral role our Supply Chain & Logistics team plays all the way through to how we really understand and put our customers first.  

You will experience a range of key departments where you will develop your skills & management experience of the logistics operation in the Distribution Centre as well as make a valuable impact to the team. Different departments include;


  • Work side by side with our Merchandisers and suppliers to plan and manage stock volumes and importantly, to make sure we don’t exceed our capacities in the Distribution Centres.
  • Responsible for a zone-specific team operation. The operation includes the processing of both UK sourced and imported products ranging from furniture to kitchenware.
  • Ensure that your team have clear direction and are fully engaged in delivering the businesses objectives.
  • Work with your Shift Manager to understand the service level required for your zone and create plans to continuously improve service levels.


  • Pick up new skills from our super-talented scheduling and capacity planning team
  • Get to grips with the ins and outs of our resource forecasting function
  • Contribute towards developing planning methodologies alongside current processes
  • Create vital reports for the management team
  • Support supply chain development projects
  • Contribute towards monitoring supply chain performance
  • Get to be at the heart of supply chain development projects, likes making sure Dunelm has a solid infrastructure that’s fit for the future.
  • Build relationships with amazing people both inside and outside Dunelm – from colleagues and suppliers to third party logistics teams.

Our team are based at our Distribution Centre in Stoke, a fantastic modern distribution operation and a great working environment. You will work with an experienced Logistics team who will give you both the job training and the personal support to help get the best out of the skills you have learnt through your academic career so far.

  • On track to receive a minimum 2:1 in supply chain, logistics or any business-related subject.
  • Be a second year student at University looking for a undergraduate placement year
