We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our rapidly expanding agile tribe based in our Digital Technology Centre in Leicester.  The BA role supports the Product Owner and ensures the backlog of work is prioritised and delivering the best business value.  The BA also ensures all backlog Items have the necessary analysis to allow the team to carry out and deliver their best work. 
 
The role of the Digital Business Analyst (BA) is to work within an Agile team consisting of Product Owners, QA’s (testers) and Developers.  The Business Analyst works closely with internal business stakeholders, UX/design and 3rd parties to ensure that all features released are of the highest standard for our customers and stakeholders.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with users, key stakeholders and project team to translate business requirements into user stories for the development team to build
  • Work closely with Product Owners to help shape and refine the backlog of work – taking ownership of product related queries and following them through to resolution
  • Work with the project team and technical leads to determine scope and help plan sprints with the Product Owners 
  • Comfortably work with the development team to ensure they understand the vision for the product and are designing great features for our users and providing excellent and innovative user journey’s for our customers
  • Confidently run stand ups and estimation sessions as required
  • Develop appropriately detailed stories for product features so that the features are clearly understood by the development teams
  • Motivate the development teams to deliver solutions with an appropriate sense of priority
  • Understand the technical solutions and validate the work produced by the team
  • Work with key stakeholders across the business to ensure successful product releases
  • Work alongside the QA team to ensure an excellent quality deliverable and requirements meet business needs
  • Write clear acceptance criteria (using BDD format is a real advantage).
Skills and Expertise required:
 
Essential - 
  • Experience working to tight deadlines  - at pace where necessary
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and networks
  • Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing work priorities.
  • Previous Agile experience is advantageous
  • Experience working to tight deadlines  - at pace where necessary

Desirable - 
  • Experience of Agile
  • Ecommerce experience – but not essential
  • Worked closely with developers and have enough of a technical understanding to communicate clearly with developers and QAs to build a great rapport.
  • Ideally, 3-5 years BA experience, doing iterative, incremental product development.
  • Story Mapping experience
