Product Owner – Data

This is an exciting time to join the UK’s biggest homeware brand on our Data & Insight transformation journey. This is a pivotal role working with stakeholders across the entire Dunelm company supporting to build the foundation of a great data management framework, streamline our reporting, and make sure we use data to our advantage. The main focus for this area in the next year will be to get to a concise set of well maintained, fast and reliable business intelligence reports, moving slowly from reactive tactical work to pro-active strategic development. As such, this person will be key in rallying the development team as well as championing data throughout the organisation.

What you’ll do

  • Be the Product Owner in the Data Domain focussing on the Data BI team, shaping and prioritising the development work and ensuring the work delivered adds value for the business.
  • Responsible for maintaining the backlog, requirements gathering, shaping and processing emergent needs and running sprint reviews and refinement sessions. Breaking down overall priorities into a sensible short-term roadmap will be one of your key responsibilities.
  • You will be working closely with analytical and technical teams in a highly matrixed environment, supporting in any analysis and leading a holistic solution across departments where possible and encouraging the consideration of Data and Data Reporting as part of any solutions implemented.
  • Building strong relationships with key (senior) stakeholders to understand, channel and influence their Data and Reporting needs as well communicating your outputs and plans.
  • Working with the Principle Engineer, BI Tech lead and Delivery Manager in the Data Domain team to build a transparent, accessible, organised, well working team.

  • An understanding of BI reporting tools and visualiation methods, such as Power BI; Google Data Studio – as these tools are heavily used by the team

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Experience in Product Owner role
