Quality Engineer - People Services

Job Description

We are looking for a QAE with a quality first mindset and strong background in Agile testing practices to join our People Services tech crew. As a QAE, you will be responsible for supporting the roadmap for our People Services platforms which include in house developed and 3rd party managed systems, where data flows through SAP. You will have a passion for software quality and testing with the technical gravitas to inspire and support continuous improvement by sharing your own knowledge, experience and insights. The role of the QAE will be to support a squad in the Enterprise Domain working closely in the People Services community.

You will seek out ways of being able to validate within iterative deliveries against the defined acceptance criteria and help to ensure we have repeatable, stable automation as part of this process.

What you'll do:
  • Write acceptance criteria for new features alongside other members of the squad, collaborating on technical solutions and communicating your goals/result
  • Compiling applicable test data for use during various testing stages
  • Design and execute (manual and / or automated) test scenarios which demonstrate the business condition/behaviour under test and the expected results
  • Review tests written by the development team and other test team members to ensure high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software release
  • To raise and monitor system related defects and ensure they are fixed and re-tested in a timely manner
  • Utilise testing frameworks that fit with the products under test and for use within a continuous Integration and deployment pipeline
  • Working collaboratively with the development team to ensure that quality is built into everything we do at Dunelm
Essential skills required:
  • SAP knowledge
  • Experience with testing web platforms
  • Working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of agile delivery practices and involvement within delivery ceremonies and practices i.e. 3 Amigos, stand ups, etc.

Desirable skills:
  • Have a good understanding of People Services processes in a Retail environment
  • BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) –for collaboration
