Network Engineer

As a part of the Infrastructure Engineering team this role will involve working in fast paced agile environment to work as a member of the team to support, manage and develop the Dunelm Network infrastructure.

The role will be working in a busy Network team implementing and supporting some of the latest Network technology on the market, therefore it requires the individual to be dynamic, have a pro-active approach, adapt to change, take on challenges and lead from the front with the ability to make highly technical decisions and selecting the right solution but being cost conscious at the same time

The individual will be required to have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of Cisco Catalyst Switches, Routers, Cisco ASA Firewalls, along with wireless technologies including Cisco Access Points and WLAN controllers.  Networking in AWS would be an advantage for this role as the organisation plans to continue to develop services in AWS.

In addition, any experience with managing IP Telephony solutions, SD-WAN experience and deploying Network Access Control solutions would be highly advantageous.

  • Ensure the Dunelm Network estate is highly available
  • Plan system outages in accordance with the change policy and awareness of agile processes
  • Ensure the estate is resilient and is running as efficiently as possible
  • Make recommendations and proposals to improve the infrastructure
  • Diligently carry out and report on capacity
  • Lead the business in terms of networking and new technologies
  • Commercially minded
  • Site visits required to investigate/improve and plan infrastructure changes
  • Available for out of hours on-call escalation

Essential:

  • Experience of configuring Cisco Catalyst switches – ideally Cisco 4500/9500 switches
  • AWS Cloud Networking knowledge and management
  • Understanding of SD-WAN concepts
  • Experience of managing Network Access Control products
  • Automation and scripting knowledge using Python / Shell / etc
  • Cisco Wireless LAN Access point and Controller management
  • Cisco ASA Firewall and Cisco AnyConnect administration
  • Cisco Nexus Experience
  • Experience and knowledge of working with MPLS/DIA/WAN
  • Experience of working in Agile and DevOps teams
  • Understanding of Network automation and scripting skills
  • Working Linux Knowledge
