Dunelm are currently looking for a Full Time Coffee Shop Team Leader to manage a team within our Distribution Centres, based in Stoke on Trent. 

This position is full time, for 37.5 hours per week, working 9-5, Monday to Friday.

As a Coffee Shop Team Leader, you will run the day to day operation of the catering facilities under the guidance of the Catering Manager, spending time between the coffee shop in each warehouse. You will be able to work unsupervised and take responsibility for the coffee shop operation. You will have experience of leadership within a catering environment, will be willing to work hard and will have a passion for customer service and team work.

The Coffee Shop is a central hub within our busy operation, providing outstanding food and service to our existing employees and visitors to our sites. Your customers will be our colleagues, meaning that you will be working with them to provide top quality meals and service throughout their busy shifts.

To be successful in this Team Leader role, you will have experience of leading a team in high volume, fast paced environment and feel confident to take responsibility for the daily operation.

Dunelm was founded in 1979 by Bill and Jean Adderley on a market stall in Leicester. Our first bricks and mortar store opened in 1984 and since then we have grown, now having a portfolio of 170 stores and over 6000 employees. With two warehouses and a home delivery depot based in Stoke-on-Trent, there is a local hub for the logistics operation.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing the team in the Catering Managers absence 
  • Motivating the team
  • Ensuring day to day tasks are completed
  • Supporting the team with issues
  • Supporting the Catering Manager with disciplinary's and confidential meetings
  • Implementation and maintenance of all food safety procedures and paperwork and validate cleaning has taken place
  • Work with manager to recognise excellent customer service
  • Having a thorough understanding of our training policies ensuring colleagues are up to date
  • Challenging the team in an open and honest manner
  • Supporting manager with performance issues and recognise good performance


  • Ideally you will have barista/coffee shop experience as you’ll be regularly using our barista machines to prepare a host of hot drinks to a high standard.
  • You will have experience leading a team and working under pressure in a service environment.
  • You will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, with great time keeping and team work skills, to ensure all our customers receive an outstanding service.
