Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Studio Operations Manager to lead production in our shiny new Photographic studio here in Leicester. Full time 12 month fixed term contract.

Your role duties are to oversee day-to-day management of the Dunelm Photography and Video Studio, accountable for all operational aspects. This position is a key role within the Brand & Marketing Department, delivering on-brand photographic and video content aligned to our brand values & purpose.
Responsibilities include:
  • Manage the running of the Photographic Studio, supported by a team of eighteen with four reports; photographers, stylists & Set-builders, Image Editors, Scheduling & sample management.
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple customers to ensure shoot planning meets business goals and prioritises; Trade, Buying, Product Design, Brand & Creative, PR & Social teams.
  • Deliver high quality photography and video ensuring that set, styling, lighting and product representation meet the brief.
  • Ensure all output is consistent with the brand guidelines and all technical requirements are met. Uphold process and imaging guidelines and ensure the full team deliver against these to enable a consistent approach.
  • Review processes and impact of changes or improvements in order to deliver more efficiency
  • Maintain budgets, manage firm operating costs and identify and drive any efficiencies that can be capitalised on.
  • Motivate, inspire and develop the team including performance management and reviews.

Key knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a Studio management role.
  • Relevant IT skills – Microsoft Office suite, Photoshop and Capture One, DAM management.
  • A knowledge of photography, videography and editing with proven ability of putting into practice process and workflow relating to these areas.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced Home/Style Retail environment
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to inspire and drive performance.
  • Strong budgetary management ability.
  • Ability to influence and communicate cross functionally.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to push back when necessary while maintaining good working relationships.
  • Supremely organised with the ability to prioritise conflicting requests.
  • Ability to present work across all levels of the business. Ability to lead, influence and coach others.
