We're very proud of our friendly, helpful and knowledgeable colleagues, the people who understand the value of great customer service. With our current expansion plan well underway we're always looking for new people to join our team.

We have over 140 stores throughout the UK and in Northern Ireland with many more planned. Keep your eye on our website to find out where we're opening up next.

The majority of our stores are located out-of-town, offering free parking, with the most recently opened superstores trading from around 25,000 to 40,000 sq. ft. We also have some smaller town centre stores that offer the same brilliant value for money on the high street. Whichever size store you choose to work in, you'll find the same fast-paced, informal and friendly working environment.

Store Management Profile

As a Store Manager, I don’t do typical days. In fact, there isn’t an aspect of running the store that I’m not involved in. It’s a real hands-on role which calls for skills in management, merchandising and everything in between.

Knowing how to delegate is vital. Good leadership is about letting people know what’s expected of them and how to do it. Get that right and the rest follows much easier.

Customers can make your day. They’re the most important part of what we do. If they leave your store happy, you feel happy that you’ve achieved something.

It’s the team I manage that makes this job worth doing. Like a family, everyone has their role to play. When the pressure’s on, everyone helps each other out and there is a real team spirit. Running one of the biggest stores is a real responsibility. We’re representing the company as a whole, and we work hard to make sure that we provide the best possible service. Anything less just wouldn’t be as satisfying to us and our customers.

I love being busy, but I know the value of relaxation too. It’s something you need to balance out with such a fantastic and busy role.

Being able to multitask matters here. You have to be prepared to help with whatever the customer needs. That’s fine by me. It makes the work more interesting and the teams closer.

Customers should enjoy their time in the store. That’s what it’s all about. We want them to feel that they’ve left with exactly what they wanted. The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing that they’ve been given a friendly, helpful service.

There's a family feel to Dunelm. You feel looked after and treated fairly. You’re respected for what you can do, not judged by how old or young you are.

Things move fast. Our range is huge and it changes constantly. So it’s sometimes a challenge to keep track of what’s what. That’s where enthusiasm and energy really help.

My prospects are looking good. I’ve become more confident in myself and I’ve learned skills in retailing that I know can take me further.
